2015 - 2016
Former UVA Football captain, Alec Vozenilek, founded D1 Moving and Storage in 2015 with team mates and a pickup truck. Over the next year, the brand expanded with multiple trucks across Charlottesville, Richmond and Northern Virginia.
1994
D1 Moving continued to grow, adding multiple warehouses across Richmond and Northern Virginia. In 2019, D1 acquired RCS Moving and Storage - the largest sole commercial moving company in central Virginia. Together the brands offer elite service for both residential and commercial jobs including warehousing and logistics planning.
2022 - Present
D1 currently has a fleet of over 40 trucks, 100+ employees, and over 250k sq. ft. of warehousing across Richmond, Charlottesville and Washington DC! D1 and RCS joined the Office Moving Alliance (OMA) in 2022. OMA is a nationally recognized partnership of vetted commercial moving providers with the goal of providing excellent service across over 95% of US markets.
D1 leverages expertise of pros with over 30 years of logistics experience to ensure seamless service.
